Mr. Peter Burke McClanahan, 61, of Cranston, RI, died on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at his home. He was born in New Milford, CT, on May 20, 1960, son of Preston McClanahan III and Magdalena (Michels) McClanahan. He graduated from Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Rhode Island School of Design, after attending the University of Cincinnati. A lifelong musician, Peter played with numerous bands throughout Europe and the USA, most recently playing in Providence and Boston. Besides his parents of Savoy, MA, he is survived by his partner Rachel Atwood, and their son Preston McClanahan of Cranston; his brother Noel of Savoy; his sister Eve McClanahan and her husband Stephen Katz, and their daughter Charlotte of Pine Island, NY. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 3rd, at 10:00AM in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, McKinley Square, Adams, MA 01220 Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made for Peter's son to the Preston McClanahan Education Fund, set up through Eve McClanahan, 216 Glenwood Road, Pine Island, NY 10969.
