Marian Dzbenski Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Marian Dzbenski, 74, of 17 Wall St. North Adams, died Tuesday evening at North Adams Regional Hospital. He was born in Siemien, Poland on October 28, 1930, son of the late John and Mariana Dzbenski. He attended schools in Poland. He immigrated to this country 40 years ago to build a better life for his wife and children, leaving behind a life he was accustomed to. Mr. Dzbenski worked as a machine operator at the former General Cable Co. in North Adams until the mill ceased operations. He then worked for several years at Commonwealth Sprague in North Adams, until finally retiring. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi of Church, North Adams. He enjoyed picking mushrooms, gardening and fishing. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren's sports games. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Wanda Walczyk, whom he married on June 27, 1953; 2 sons - Thaddeus "Ted" Dzbenski and his wife, Julie, of Cheshire; and Joseph Dzbenski and his wife, Janice, of Adams; 2 Daughters- Teresa Jajko and her husband, Fred, of Cheshire, and Krystyna Dzbenski of Adams; 1 Brother - Waclaw Dzbenski of Poland; 5 Grandchildren - Adam Jajko, Derick Jajko, Mark Dzbenski and Mary Dzbenski, all of Cheshire, and Nathan Dzbenski of Adams; and several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers - Wojciech, Edward and Lucjan Dzbenski. The funeral will be held on Friday, May 20, at 9: 45 AM from the AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home.
