Mrs. Lottie A. (Ziemba) DeCoigne, 82, of 202 North Summer St. Adams, died Friday afternoon, November 24, 2006, at her home following a long illness. She was born in Adams on January 6, 1924, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Kordana) Ziemba, and attended Adams schools. Mrs. DeCoigne worked at General Electric Co. in Pittsfield for 15 years, until retiring in January of 1986. Earlier, she had worked at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co.and Gaylord Co. in Adams, and Sprague Electric Co in North Adams. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, and a member of its Rosary Sodality. She was a member of the Adams Senior Citizens and the YMCA in North Adams, where she enjoyed swimming. She also enjoyed reading, puzzles, knitting, traveling, spending time in her yard and watching soap operas. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ransom B. DeCoigne, whom she married on May 4, 1946; 2 Sons - Ronald DeCoigne and his wife, Martha, of St. Albans, VT; and David DeCoigne of Adams; 2 Sisters - Veronica Ziemba of Adams, and Josephine Waldner and her husband, Frank, of Virginia Beach, VA; 1 Brother - Edward Ziemba and his wife, Lorraine, of Virginia Beach, VA; 2 Step Grandchildren - Allen Jacobs and Amanda Jacobs, both of St. Albans, VT., and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, and her beloved cats Tom, Tiger & Kitty Cat. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 29th, at 9:00 AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Tuesday from 3 to 5 PM at the funeral home. Members of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Sodality will meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 2:45 PM to pay their respects and recite the Rosary. Memorial donations may be made to the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire, or to St. Stanislaus Church, through the funeral home.
