John Grover, Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

John Joseph Grover, Sr., 71, of 250 Mohawk Forest Blvd., North Adams, died Thursday afternoon at his home. He was born in Bennington, Vermont on January 17, 1934, a son of the late Clifford and Gertrude (Terry) Grover, and attended Bennington schools. He had lived in North Adams for 25 years. Mr. Grover was a farmer for most of his life, last working at the Janowycz farm in Cheshire before retiring several years ago. He served with the US Army from 1955 to 1957. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and the Loyal Order of Moose in Bennington, VT He is survived by his wife, the former Florence E. Anschutz, whom he married on April 14, 1985; 2 Sons - John Grover, Jr. of North Adams, MA and Wayne E. Grover of Troy, N.Y.; 4 Daughters - Brenda L. Grover of Olean, N.Y.; Melissa A. Grover of Adams, MA; Joyce F. Grover of North Adams, MA; and Laurie J. Grover of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; 3 Step Sons - Lawrence A. Miller, Jr ; and James M. Miller, both of North Adams, MA and John E. Miller of Bridgewater, MA; 1 Step Daughter - Tammy M. Miller of North Adams, MA; 4 Brothers - Joseph Grover and Bernard Grover, both of Bennington, VT ; Lawrence Grover of Buskirk, NY and Michael Grover of Wilmington, SC; 4 Sisters - Linda Sweet of Bennington, VT; Mildred Rabidoux of Berwick, ME; Agnes Totherow of Ft. Mill, SC and Marie Hall of Deep River, CT; Many grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren and step great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Rolnick, in 1992; and by 2 brothers - Clifford and Frederick Grover, and a sister who died in infancy. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 11, at 4:00 PM in the Auge`-Paciorek-Simmons Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, MA 01220. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Monday from 2:00 PM until the service.
