Henry S. Soha

August 13, 1928 - July 24, 2005

Mr. Henry Stanislaus Soha, 76, of 4 Columbia St. Adams, died Sunday afternoon at his home. He was born in Clarksburg, MA on August 13, 1928, a son of the late Andrew and Victoria (Obara) Soha. He moved to Adams as a child with his family, and attended Adams schools, including St. Stanislaus Kostka School. Mr. Soha was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the US Army for 3 years until his honorable discharge as a Corporal. He worked tirelessly at the former W.R. Grace Co. in Adams for 36 years, until retiring 10 years ago. He had a unique sense of humor, was a great storyteller and enjoyed listening to baseball games, and Polish and Country music. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, the former Jeannette A. Dupras; 2 Daughters - Kathleen Furey of Lanesboro, MA and Mary St. Hilaire of Cheshire; 1 Son - Michael Soha of Brooklyn, New York; 2 Sons-in-law - Mark St. Hilaire and Rev. William Furey; 5 Grandsons - Wyatt, Timothy and Luke Furey; Petty Officer 2nd Class Mark St. Hilaire II and Chase Soha; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Jenna Marie Soha; 2 brothers - Rudolph and Adam Soha; and by 4 sisters - Rose Penczar Adamczyk, Jennie Strek, Helen Dubis and Wanda Soha. A service celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, July 27, at 11:00 AM in the AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Adams Ambulance Service or to the Meals on Wheels program of Elder Services of Berkshire County through the funeral home.
