Mrs. Gertrude Elizabeth (Frenya) Harvey, 94, of 128 East Road, Adams, died early Monday morning, April 4, 2005, at Williamstown Commons. She was born in Adams on November 15, 1910, daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Goodermote) Frenya. She moved to Chicopee as a child with her family, and attended schools there, returning to Adams as a teenager. Mrs. Harvey was a homemaker most all of her life, but had assisted her beloved late husband, Thomas O. Harvey, for many years in the operation of T. J. Harvey & Sons General Contractors. She and her husband enjoyed traveling extensively and spending winters at their home in Zephyrhills, Florida. Mrs. Harvey was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Adams. She was a member of the former Adams Study Club. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her husband, whom she married on April 25, 1930, died August 20, 2000. She is survived by 1 Son - Thomas O. Harvey, Jr. and his wife, Jonette, of Slidell, Louisiana; 2 Daughters - Elizabeth G. Randall and her husband, Robert, of Adams; and Susan A. Harvey and her partner, Victoria Johnson, of Ashland, MA; 5 Grandchildren - Jeffrey Harvey, Margo Landry, Carolee Dalton, Kathleen Santeufemio and Mark Randall; 7 Great Grandchildren - Toby and Katharine Harvey; Jennifer Comeaux; Megan & Mitchell Dalton and Isabella & Benjamin Santeufemio; A sister-in-law - Irene Phelps of Greenfield, MA; A niece & 2 nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Craig Harvey; her daughter-in-law - Virginia Poirier Harvey, 2 brothers- Raymond and Vincent Frenya, and 2 sisters- Marion Chouinard, and a sister who died in infancy. The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 7, at 10:00 AM from the Auge`-Paciorek-Simmons Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Requiem Eucharist at 11:00 AM in St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Edward King, Rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church through the funeral home.
