George Morse
Mr. George Frederick Morse, 68, of 89 Commercial St. Adams, died Tuesday afternoon at North Adams Regional Hospital, shortly after being admitted. He was born in North Adams on December 19, 1936, a son of the late Linwood and Frances (Lambert) Morse. He attended North Adams schools, and graduated from Drury High School. Mr. Morse served with the US Marine Corps from 1955 to 1959. He worked for 27 years at Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams. He the worked briefly at General Electric Co. in Pittsfield, and last worked at W.R. Grace Co. and its successor, MacDermid Graphic Arts in Adams, until retiring 4 years ago. He enjoyed fly fishing and golfing. He is survived by his wife, the former Jewel C. Plato, whom he married on September 19, 1964; 2 daughters - Deborah Melillo and Christina Romaniak, both of Adams; 1 Brother - Clifford Morse of Northampton, MA; 3 Sisters - Frances Sprague, Shirley Adams and Marcia LeMay, all of North Adams; 5 Grandchildren - Olivia, Elaine and Eliza Melillo and Cali and Drew Romaniak, all of Adams, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Linwood Morse, Jr. on May 22, 1997. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 12, at 11:00 AM in the Auge`-Paciorek-Simmons Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Rev. Bonaventure Moccia, CP, will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 7 PM in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home.
