Mr. Frank Stanley Kruzel, 94, of 86 North Summer St., Adams, died early Monday morning at his home. He was born in the town of Florida on September 21, 1912, a son of the late Matthew and Helen (Meczywor) Kruzel. He attended schools in Adams. Mr. Kruzel was a self-employed carpenter from the age of 14 up until the time of his death. He started out working with his father and worked for the past 37 years with his son and grandsons who own and operate Kruzel Builders in Adams. During World War II he worked for the former Adams Laundry running the Boilers. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. He was a member of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Society, Adams, and a former member of the former Adams Sportsman's Club. Mr. Kruzel did many carpentry jobs for the St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, and in 2002, received a Master Carpenter Award from the Rev. John Chwalek, former Pastor of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushrooming, apple and blueberry picking, antique cars, and coffee breaks on the job site. He had also made over 200 log tables that he loved to give away. His wife the former Emilia Dziegiel, whom he married September 24, 1935, died on April 14, 2000. He is survived by; 1 Son - Francis Kruzel and his wife Nancy of Adams. 1 Daughter - Frances DePorter and her husband Michael of Oakton, VA. 1 Son-in-Law Leo Marszalek of Adams. 8 Grandchildren - Diana Meekin of Ware, Paul Marszalek of Adams, Maria Ziemba of Adams, Steven DePorter Sharon Ennis and Joseph DePorter all of Oakton, VA, and Mark Kruzel and Scott Kruzel, both of Adams. 11 Great Grandchildren. 1 Brother - Matthew Kruzel of Cheshire. 3 Sisters - Mildred Matuszak, Monica Cyrulik, and Bina Nazzewski, all of Adams. He was predeceased by a daughter Theresa Marszalek who died on April 6, 2002, 1 Sister, Blanche Nazzewski, and by 3 Brother-in-Laws, Walter, Teddy, and Adolph Dziegiel. The funeral will be held on Thursday June 7, at 9:00AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Stanislaus Church or School, the Adams Ambulance Service, or the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire, through the funeral home.
