Frances Rysz Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Frances Dorothy (Bigda) Rysz, 84, of 16 West Road, Adams, died Sunday afternoon at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted earlier in the day. She was born in Adams on August 29, 1920, a daughter of the late Stanley and Honorata (Swistak) Bigda, and attended Adams schools. Mrs. Rysz worked for several years at Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams, and earlier, had worked at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. in Adams and the former Jarisch Paper Box Co. in North Adams. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Sodality , the Adams Senior Citizens, and the Polish Women's Club. She enjoyed polka dancing and knitting & crocheting. Her husband, Joseph P. Rysz, whom she married on September 28, 1940, died on September 20, 1992. She is survived by 1 son - Joseph P. Rysz, Jr. and 1 Daughter - Dorothy E. Rysz, both of Adams; 1 Sister - Carmen Pizani, of Adams; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers- Joseph and Henry Bigda; and by a sister, Felicia Mendel. The funeral will be held on Thursday, Sept. 30th, at 9:00 AM from the Auge`-Paciorek-Simmons Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, Pastor of the Parishes of Notre Dame & St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Stanislaus Kostka. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Members of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Sodality will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday at 3:45 PM to pay their respects and recite the Rosary. Flowers may be sent, or memorial donations may be made to any charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home.
