Veronica Ziemba

Miss Veronica M. "Ronnie" Ziemba, 89, of 10 Pinnacle Drive, Adams, died Friday morning, November 4, 2011, at her home. She was born in Adams on October 4, 1922, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Kordana) Ziemba. She attended Adams schools, and graduated from the former Adams High School. Miss Ziemba worked in the Power Transformer Division of General electric Co. in Pittsfield for over 40 years, until retiring in 1985. Following her retirement, she was an active volunteer and supporter of St. Stanislaus Elementary School, spending many years working in its library. She was a communicant of the Parish of Pope John Paul the Great, had been a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish, Adams. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Sodality and the General Electric Quarter Century and Pensioner's Clubs. She enjoyed visiting with friends, reading, traveling, working on crossword puzzles, and giving special door prizes to visitors in her home. She is survived by a sister, Josephine Waldner, and her husband, Frank, of Virginia Beach, VA; a brother-in-law, Ransom DeCoigne, of Adams; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Ziemba of Virginia Beach, VA; her nieces and nephews, Ronald DeCoigne and his wife, Martha, of St. Albans, VT; David DeCoigne of Adams; John Waldner and his wife, Mary Beth, of Virginia Beach, VA; Mary Nair and her husband, Harry, of Chicago, IL; Barbara Adkins and her husband, John, of Suffolk, VA; and Neil Ziemba and his wife, Kathy, of Virginia Beach, VA; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Lottie DeCoigne, and by a brother, Edward Ziemba. The funeral will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10th, at 9:00 AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in the Parish Church of Pope John Paul the Great , Adams, celebrated by Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 6 PM at the funeral home. Members of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Sodality will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday at 3:40 PM to pay their respects and recite the Rosary.
