Stella Kupiec

Mrs. Stella Veronica (Wojcik) Kupiec, 91, formerly of East Road, Adams, died early Sunday morning, March 27, 2011, at Williamstown Commons. She was born in Adams on August 8, 1919, a daughter of the late Edward and Frances (Wojtusiak) Wojcik, and attended St. Stanislaus Kostka School and the former Adams High School. Mrs. Kupiec first worked as a spinner at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. in Adams, and later worked in the Ordnance Division of General Electric Co. in Pittsfield for over 20 years, until retiring in 1981. She had been a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, and was a member of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Sodality. She enjoyed Polish music and spending time with her family. Her husband, John W. Kupiec, whom she married on October 18, 1941, died on September 10, 1998. She is survived by her daughters, Janice Czerwinski and her husband, Edward, of Harwich, MA; and Irene Contois and her husband, Jack, of Adams; 5 Grandchildren, Jeffrey Czerwinski and his wife, Kimberly, of Hudson, MA; Andrea Bobo and her husband, Donald, of Houston, Texas; Kristen Keller and her husband, Matthew, of Pittsburgh, PA; Jessica Contois of Burlington, VT and Ashley Contois of Adams; 7 Great Grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Cecelia Banas, and by a great granddaughter, Madeleine. The funeral will be held on Monday, April 4th, at 9:00 AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in the Parish Church of Pope John Paul the Great, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Sunday, April 3rd, from 3 to 6 PM at the funeral home. Members of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Sodality will meet at the funeral home on Sunday at 2:30 PM to pay their respects and recite the Rosary. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made in Stella's memory to the Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home.
