Mr. Ronald R. Krutiak

Ronald Richard Krutiak, "Krute" 58, of Clarksburg, lost his hard-fought battle with metastatic melanloma on Friday, August 7, 2015. Ron was born in Adams on January 11, 1957, to Dorothy (Lagoy) Krutiak and the late Edward Krutiak. He attended schools in Adams and was a 1975 graduate of Hoosac Valley High School. He married the former Mary Cichy of Adams on October 8, 1982, and had two beautiful children, Amanda, whom he warmly referred to as the pride and joy of his life; and Daniel, though severely autistic, shared his father's love of four wheelers and snowmobiles, enabling Ron to take him on many crazy rides through the woods. These high-speed pastimes were two of Ron's "relaxation therapies", along with his passion for competitive dirt bike racing in his younger years, earning him the unforgettable nicknames of "Crazy Krute"," Wheelie King" and "Trail Master". At age 15, he started working at his father's sawmill nailing pallets, and gradually made his way into the woods where he worked for Krutiak Logging for many years. While logging a job in Clarksburg, Ron saw the potential for his dream home, bought the property from his father and inadvertently laid the foundation for his business, Clarksburg Construction Co. Since this property was also the site of the former Chilson Gravel Bank, he was able to start a base operation and establish a thriving aggregate and trucking business. He was owner and president of this business for more than 30 years. Ron was very proud to be a small business owner and knew most of his customers as friends. In addition to his amazing 90 year old mother, with whom he was very close, he is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Krutiak; daughter, Amanda (Krutiak) Rosenburg and her husband Michael of Southampton, MA; son Daniel Krutiak of Clarksburg; A brother, James Krutiak and his wife, Patricia, of Adams; a sister, Kathy Krutiak and her husband Paul Pinsonneault of Savoy; Seven nephews, Rodd Lanoue, Justin and Derek Pinsonneault, Christopher and Joseph Cichy; and Marc and Jason Krutiak; and four nieces, Caroline Malone, Colleen Poirier, Kathleen Cichy and Joanne Tena; as well as several grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his father, Edward Krutiak, in 2014, and a brother, Gerald Krutiak, in 1978. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15th, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 25 Hoosac St. Adams, celebrated by Rev.
