Ronald F. Davis

Mr. Ronald Frederick Davis, 78, of 124 Mohawk Trail, Florida, died Monday morning, March 8, 2013, at North Adams Regional Hospital. He was born in Adams on March 4, 1935, a son of the late Harold J. and Dorothy M. (Cyr) Davis. He attended North Adams Schools, and graduated from Drury High School with the Class of 1953. Mr. Davis served with the S Army from 1957 until his Honorable Discharge as a Specialist 4th Grade in 1960. He was stationed in Korea from 1958 until 1959. Mr. Davis last worked as a inspector in the Power Transformer division of General Electric Co. in Pittsfield for 25 years, until his retirement. Earlier, he had worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. and Hoosac Cotton Mill in North Adams. He was an active member of All Saints Episcopal Church, and its predecessor, St. John's Episcopal Church, North Adams, where he served on the Vestry, as an usher, and as the only male member of the Altar Guild. He was a Charter member and Past president of the Florida Lions Club; a member of the Florida Senior Center, Peter Cook Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Clarksburg; and V.O.S.H.A. He had also served on the Town of Florida Board of Appeals. An avid candlepin bowler, Ron had served as past president of several local bowling leagues. He is survived by his wife, the former Susan E. McLain, whom he married on November 15, 1980; 2 sons, Terry-Lee R. Davis and his wife, Yufen, of Tucson, AZ; and Timothy K. Davis of Marietta, GA; 4 daughters, Jackie Pluff and her husband, Chris, of Mechanicsburg, PA; Karen Brule and her husband, Robert, of Florida; Jann McDonough and her husband, Michael, of North Adams; and Tracey Ritcher and her companion, Thomas Laird, of Florida; A brother, Donald Davis and his wife, Karen, of Vero Beach, FL; 10 Grandchildren, Amber Ryals, Chyna and Mya Davis; Amanda, Ryan and Nathan Brule; Cathryn and Erin McDonough; and Zachary and Nicholas Ritcher; His beloved cat, Leah; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Davis, in 1962; and by a sister, Carol Gleason, in 2003. The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 11th, with a Requiem Eucharist and Burial Office at 11:00 AM in All Saints Episcopal Church, North Adams, celebrated by Rev. Bruce Duncan, assisted by Rev. Stephen White, Priest-in-Charge. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, are Wednesday (today) from 4 to 7 PM.
