Monica Wojcik Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Monica M. (Urbanek) Wojcik, 92, of 16 Crandall St. Adams, died Monday morning at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. She was born in Adams on July 28, 1912, a daughter of the late Frank and Veronica (Szetela) Urbanek, and attended Adams schools, graduating from the former Adams High School. Mrs. Wojcik was primarily a bookkeeper all of her life, working at the former O.W. Gavett Oldsmobile dealership in North Adams, and also for Adams Laundry & Dry Cleaning in Adams. She had worked for the past 35 years as business manager for St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish, and was office manager at St. Stanislaus Kostka School until her death. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, and a member of its Rosary Sodality. Her husband, Andrew J. Wojcik, whom she married on July 24, 1939, died on November 24, 1970. She is survived by her daughter - Mary A. Hult and her husband, Kenneth, of Madbury, New Hampshire; 2 Grandchildren - Britta Hult of Davis, California; and Anders Hult of Madbury, N.H., and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. She also leaves her extended family , the students, staff & Felician Sisters of St. Stanislaus Kostka School. She was predeceased by her brothers - Aloysius, Casimere & Francis Urbanek, and her sister - Sr. Mary Aniela, CSSF. The funeral will be held on Thursday, October 7, at 9:00 AM from the Auge`-Paciorek-Simmons Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, Pastor of the Parishes of St. Stanislaus Kostka and Notre Dame & St. Thomas Aquinas. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Members of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Sodality will meet at the funeral home at 4:45 PM Wednesday to pay their respects and recite the Rosary. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Kostka School through the funeral home.
