Linda Novak

Mrs. Linda Ann (Barcomb) Novak, 50, of 99 Meadowview Drive, Cheshire, slipped away from us on Thursday March 5, 2009, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Albany, New York on November 3, 1958, a daughter of the late William Barcomb and Mary (Ballato) Bulinski. She attended schools in Albany and Utica, New York. She moved to Cheshire in 1982. Linda worked for many years at Price Chopper Supermarkets, attaining the position of Store Manager. She later founded and owned L&N Ventures, a construction and cleaning company she ran for 17 years. While running her business she held a Massachusetts Construction Supervisors License. Linda had also worked for Sampco, cooking and running the kitchen at the North Adams Country Club. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire. She enjoyed vacationing at the beach, blackjack, the New York Yankees, and spending time with her granddaughter, Layla. She is survived by her husband, Gary J. Novak, whom she married on December 27, 1997 in St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Adams; 1 Son - Michael Taber and his wife Candice of Adams; 1 Daughter - Erica Brazeau of Long Island, NY; 2 Brothers - Michael Barcomb and his wife Lynn of Schenectady, NY, and Paul Barcomb and his wife Dee of Highland, MD; 1 Sister - Sharon Barcomb and her companion Nancy Gray of North Adams; 1 Granddaughter - Layla Taber of Adams; 4 Nephews - Trevor and Luke Barcomb, T.J. Novak, and D.J. Hobson; 4 Nieces - Callie and Stephanie Barcomb, Nicole Hobson, and Brenna Novak; Her Mother-in-Law- Nancy Brown; Her Father-in-Law - Joseph Novak and his wife Debbie, and her Brother-in-Law, Todd Novak. She also leaves her special traveling companion and cousin, Kathy Hobson and her husband Roger. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 12 at 10:00AM in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire. Rev. David Raymond, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac Street, Adams, which is in charge of arrangements. The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests memorial donations be made to the Linda Novak Memorial Fund through the funeral home.
