Guy R. Pelletier

Mr. Guy Raymond Pelletier, 77, of 47 Bellevue Avenue, Adams, died on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Adams on August 31, 1933, a son of the late Philippe and Lucina (Caron) Pelletier. He attended schools in Adams. Mr. Pelletier was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served with the United States Marine Corps until receiving his honorable discharge on August 4, 1955. Following his discharge from the Marines, Mr. Pelletier attended DeVry Technical School in Chicago for one year and then returned to Adams to go to work as a technician for General Electric Co., Pittsfield until retiring in 1985. He was a communicant of the Parish of Pope John Paul the Great, Adams. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Adams Post 160 American Legion, the Stamford Country Club, the Mt. Greylock Bowling League, the GE Pensioners Club, and a former member of the Greylock Archery Club. When his children were small he had coached for the Adams Little League. He enjoyed gardening and traveling. He is survived by his wife 54 years, the former Dorothy J. Zieba, whom he married on June 23, 1956; 3 Sons - Guy R. Pelletier, Jr. of Menomonie, WI, Michael Pelletier of Readsboro and Philip Pelletier of Adams; 3 Daughters - Kathleen "Kasia" Pelletier and Suzette Kordus, both of Green River, WY and Denise "Dede" Moncecchi and her husband William of Savoy; 13 Grandchildren - Guy R. Pelletier, III, Devin Pelletier, Kirk Forney, Bridget Pelltier, Jaimie Peterson, Linsey, Natalia and Michael Pelletier, Corey, Megan and Tyler Moncecchi and Jeffrey and Jennie Kordus; 5 Great Grandchildren - Kayden, Mason and Guy R. Pelletier, IV, and Juliete Peterson and Quinn Merancio; 1 Brother - Joseph "Bobby" Pelletier of Portsmouth, RI; 3 Sisters - Suzie Gould of Adams, Theresa Dolle of Clarksburg, Beatrice Pelletier of North Adams, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a great grandson, Lucas Mady on May 12, 2009. He was also predeceased by a brother Joseph Pelletier and by 5 Sisters, Jeanne Robert, Bernadette Kondel, Lucille Zieba and Gabrielle and Lucienne Pelletier. The funeral will be on Monday, March 14, at 9:00AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in the Parish Church of Pope John Paul the Great, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, Pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Sunday from 2:00PM to 5:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Parish of Pope John Paul the Great or the Adams Little League through the funeral home.
