Edward LaBonte, Jr.

Mr. Edward Joseph LaBonte, Jr., 67, of 12 Newark St., Adams, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Saturday evening, July 26, 2014 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, surrounded by his loving family. During his struggle he always kept a positive attitude, outlook and sense of humor at all times. He was born in North Adams on April 19, 1947, a son of Edward J. LaBonte, Sr. and the late Lucille (Allard) LaBonte. He attended schools in North Adams and graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School in North Adams. Mr. LaBonte worked as a self-employed contractor running his business, E. LaBonte Construction Company for over 30 years. He was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II, Adams. He was an avid reader, enjoyed anything to do with history and loved spending time and having good conversations over coffee with his friends. Besides his father of North Adams, he is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, the former Donna Clerc, his high school sweetheart, whom he married on July 23, 1966 and spent their lives together raising three wonderful children; two sons – Robert LaBonte of Pittsfield and Mark LaBonte and his wife Paula of Clarksburg; one daughter – Kim LaBonte of Cheshire. In addition, he leaves behind one brother – Thomas LaBonte and his wife Ruth of Colorado Springs, CO; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bruce and Carol Clerc of Adams; as well as several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his dear and caring friends, Pat and Bob Davis, Susan and Jim Biros and Linda and Danny Burdick. The funeral will be on Thursday, July 31, at 9:00AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, McKinley Square, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Tomasz Gorny. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
