Clovis Granger

Mr. Clovis J. Granger, 89, of 45 Friend St. Adams, died Friday evening, July 10th, at Sweet Brook Care Center in Williamstown. He was born in Clarenceville, Quebec, Canada, on August 24, 1919, a son of the late Romuald and Georgianna (LaMonde) Granger. He came to this country with his family at the age of 2, and attended the former Notre Dame Elementary School and the former Adams High School. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II, serving with the 809th Engineers Battalion in the European Theater, participating in campaigns in Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Sicily, Italy and France, until his Honorable Discharge in 1945. Mr. Granger worked for the former Beloit Corp. in Dalton, working in most all of their departments, until retiring on January 1, 1981 after 41 years of service. He was a communicant of the Parish of Pope John Paul the Great, Adams, and of the former Parish of Notre Dame & St. Thomas Aquinas. He enjoyed walking, dancing and traveling, but especially enjoyed attending the many high school athletic events that his children and grandchildren were participating in. He is survived by wife of 63 years, the former Josephine A. Dudek, whom he married on October 20, 1945; 2 sons, Dale Granger and his wife, Marlena, of Belleair Beach, Florida; and Lane Granger and his wife, Patty, of San Diego, California; 1 daughter, Patricia Misiuk and her husband, Stanley, of Adams; 10 Grandchildren, Joshua Granger, Tiffany Frautschi, Natalie Biggie, Christopher Granger, Nicole Granger, Matthew Juillerat, Michael Juillerat, Melanie Misiuk, Noah Misiuk and Chad Misiuk; 4 Great Grandchildren, Sara Frautschi, Samantha Frautschi, Kyler Juillerat and Kinley Juillerat; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Alcide and Bernard Granger, and by a sister, Bernadette Wakeley. The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 16th, at 9:00 AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in the Parish Church of Pope John Paul the Great, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, Pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Parish of Pope John Paul the Great, or to the Sweet Brook Patient Activities Fund, through the funeral home.
