Christine Scieszka

Mrs. Christine Katherine (Danecki) Scieszka, 87, of 75 Franklin St., North Adams, formerly of Adams, died on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at North Adams Commons. She was born in Adams on September 10, 1924, a daughter of the late John and Katherine (Mysona) Danecki. She attended schools in Adams. Christine worked for many years for the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co, Adams until its closing. She then worked for the Thrifty Bundle Launderette in Adams until retiring in the late 1980's. She was a communicant of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. She was a member of the Adams Senior Center. Her husband, Gregory Scieszka, whom she married on June 7, 1947, died on January 24, 1999. She is survived by; 2 Daughters - Charmaine Paquette and her husband Mark of Cheshire and Susan Halverson and her husband Gregory of Adams; 3 Sons - Gregory Scieszka, Jr. and his wife Marjorie of Manchester, VT, Kenneth Scieszka and his wife Patricia of Adams, and David Scieszka and his wife Timi of Elkview, WV; 11 Grandchildren - John Scieszka and his wife Kara, Matthew Scieszka, Richard Paquette and his wife Rebecca, David Paquette, Wendy Scieszka, Jennifer Mirke and her husband Nicholas, Amy Herald and her husband Marcus, Laura Scieszka, and Samantha, Jessica and Jacob Halverson; 4 Great Grandchildren - Emily and Jack Scieszka, Eleanor Paquette and Mason Mirke; 1 Sister - Olympia Kalisz; 1 Brother-in-Law - Felix Scieszka and his wife Pina; 2 Sisters-in-Law - Dola Lipinski and Ceil Danecki, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Christina who died at birth on September 20, 1959, 2 grandsons, James Scieszka who died on June 26, 1986 and Christopher Paquette who died on May 7, 1996. She was also predeceased by 2 brothers, Walter and Chester Danecki and by 5 sisters, Helen Menard, Blanche Reid, Jane Pyra, Jean Damiano and Aurella Poplaski. The funeral will be on Friday, October 7, at 8:45AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire, celebrated by Rev. David R. Raymond, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Thursday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the James G. Scieszka Scholarship Fund, the Equus Therapeutic Riding Program or the Adams Youth Center, Inc, through the funeral home.
