Blanche C. Kochanski

Mrs. Blanche C. (Gliwski) Kochanski, 90, formerly of 26 Richmond Lane, Adams, died Sunday evening, January 30, 2011, at Penacook Place in Haverhill, MA. She was born in Adams MA on October 18, 1920, a daughter of John and Catherine (Czech) Gliwski. She attended St Stanislaus Kostka School and was a graduate of Adams High School with the Class of 1937. She was employed for 10 years as medical secretary to the late Dr. Francis Gospodarek. She was employed also as a Medical Record Administrator by the former W.B. Plunkett Memorial Hospital from 1956 until her retirement in 1983. She then remained as Executive Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the Plunkett Trust Fund to her retirement in June 2002. Mrs. Kochanski was a communicant of St Stanislaus Kostka Church and a member of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Sodality. She was a member of the Massachusetts Medical Record Assoc., a lifetime member of the American Society of Notaries and a member of the Adams Post 160 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, as well as a member of the Polish National Alliance. Her husband, Joseph Kochanski, whom she married on July 11, 1942, died on May 23, 2008. She leaves her 3 sons-Joseph of Norwich CT; Paul of North Andover, MA; and Thomas of Dolores, CO; 3 Grandaughters-Kursten Ann Matson Butler of NH, Kara Kochanski-Vendola of CT, Joey-Marie Kochanski-Foo of CT. 2 Grandsons-Brett and Joel Kochanski of North Andover MA 1 Great granddaughter-Kelsey Ann Butler of NH She was predeceased by her daughter, Ann Kochanski Matson who died in 1973; 6 Brothers-Thaddeus, Frederick, Joseph, Stanley, Casimer and Walter Gliwski; and by 5 sisters-Helen Gliwski, Susanna Brozyna, Anna Burgess, Veronica Czarnecki and Jean Kowal. The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 12th, at 11:30 AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in the Parish Church of Pope John Paul the Great, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Saturday morning from 10:30 until 11:30 at the funeral home.
