Beatrice Wood

Mrs. Beatrice Marguerite (Langlois) Wood, 85, of 2407 Sagarmal Court, Dunn Loring, Virginia, formerly of 51 Melrose St. Adams, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at her residence. She was born in Adams on January 20, 1922, a daughter of the late Elie and Blanche (Brodeur) Langlois, and attended Adams schools, graduating from the former Adams High School in 1940. She had lived in Adams until moving to Virginia to live with her son in 2006. Mrs. Wood last worked as a Library Assistant at Hoosac Valley High School until her retirement in 1985. She was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame and St. Thomas Aquinas, Adams, where she was active in supporting parish fund-raising activities. She was also active in helping with coordinating and planning class reunion activities. Her husband of 58 years, Roy James Wood, whom she married on February 17, 1944, died on January 1, 2002. She is survived by her son - Gregory J. Wood and his wife, Patricia, of Dunn Loring, VA, with whom she resided; 2 sisters - Mrs. Connie Weiss of Gloversville, New York, and Isabelle Girard and her husband, Harold, of Adams; 1 Granddaughter - Jennifer Schoenefeldt and her husband, Stephen, of Herndon, VA; 4 Great Grandchildren - Kaylan, Stephen, Jacob and Alexa Schoenefeldt, all of Herndon; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. Her youngest son, Brian R. Wood, died on December 2, 1993. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Helen Gravelle and Bernice Wiencek. The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 28, at 9:00 AM from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, Pastor of the Catholic Parishes of Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Friday, April 27, from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
